A Whimsical Kate Spade-Inspired Wedding at Winfrey Point in Dallas, Texas

Lori Wilson (29 and a self-employed photographer at Lori Wilson Photography) and Wes Charles Jr. (30 and a tax consultant) always enjoy an escape down to the coast to spend time by the water, so a Winfrey Point waterfront wedding suited them perfectly. The day began with a sweet ceremony in front of White Rock Lake, where Lori and Wes said their vows between two trees (love the symbolism!) as guests soaked in the natural scenery and the Dallas, Texas, skyline. Kate Spade’s classic black and white stripes combined with Lori’s affinity for bright red lipstick was the starting point for their theme and palette, which felt like a relaxing garden party with lush red and pink blooms from the Southern Table. Lori’s whimsical bouquet and flower arrangements included peonies and ranunculus (her favorite) and even flower rings for her bridal attendants. At the reception, guests mingled under a canopy of string lights on the patio while watching the sunset and fireflies, or made their way to the dance floor to pop hits by the Ice House Band. A memorable moment? The band even let Wes join in on his guitar for a few songs, followed by Lori singing karaoke. Of course, the reception wouldn’t have been complete without some quality Dallas fried chicken and catfish from Babe’s Chicken Dinner House, which was followed by a delicious wedding cake from the talented Stein’s Bakery.
