A Whimsical Woodland Wedding at Shula's Hotel & Golf Club in Miami Lakes, Florida
Bianca Lorenzo and JP Acosta met in high school and transformed their shared love of nature into a whimsical green and white woodland wedding. “JP and I are very much into the outdoors and enjoy spending time with our families,” says Bianca. “We also wanted our wedding to be cozy and warm.” For a personal touch, the couple exchanged vows in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where they and their families are parishioners. Ornate stained-glass windows were a major decor centerpiece, as were two Christmas trees positioned on either side of the altar. After Bianca and JP exchanged vows in front of their guests, their celebration moved five miles away to Shula's Hotel and Golf Club, located on the same street as the couple’s favorite date-night spots. About 110 guests found their simple white escort cards slotted between multiple logs before stepping into the ballroom for a forest-inspired reception. Lush arrangements of ferns, moss, antlers, seeded eucalyptus, cinnamon sticks, wood and other greenery cascaded down the center of neutral linen-covered family-style tables. Each black chiavari chair was met with a silver charger and simple white menu card. After dinner, Bianca and JP treated their guests to an assortment of confections that included a tart berry cake, mini apple and pumpkin pies, cupcakes, coconut chocolate chip cookies and caramel popcorn. A four-tier white ruffle wedding cake and a two-tier Mustang groom’s cake were also available for guests with a sweet tooth. Bianca and PJ ended their night on the dance floor, and friends and family members left with a simple honey jar wedding favor.
