A Whimsical Spring Wedding at Lambertville Station in Lambertville, New Jersey

Deanna (27 and a higher education communicator) and Jonathan (27 and a director of creative services) met as students at The College of New Jersey while they worked in the same department. After becoming close friends and eventually dating, the two fell in love. Three years later, Jonathan popped the question under a beautiful oak tree with a French-set halo diamond. Not ones for tradition, Deanna and Jonathan found Lambertville Station, a breathtaking venue on the Delaware River. With its open spaces and brilliant architecture, Deanna was instantly sold. Deanna chose a dress made in Italy and covered in lace and tulle with soft, whimsical tiers and a corset back to continue her nontraditional theme, also adorning the day with plenty of colorful flowers and succulents for added whimsy. Because she works there part-time, River Horse Brewing Company was kind enough to provide the cocktail hour and reception with a variety of beers for the guests. In addition, as a special treat for the newlyweds, Deanna's parents surprised them with a cigar roller during the cocktail hour, where friends and family could watch them being assembled and enjoy them throughout the reception. The bride and groom chose to forgo a traditional wedding cake and instead served an assortment of pies, including cherry, blueberry, apple, and French silk -- providing their guests with enough energy to bar-hop after the reception. "Remember that not everything will go as planned, and rolling with the punches will make everything much easier. Laughter solves everything!" says Deanna.
