A Whimsical, Vintage Wedding at Neltner's Farm in Camp Springs, Kentucky
Julia Garcia (29 and a print and pattern designer) grew up working with horses and farm animals and Brian Zinkan (32 and a construction manager) loves the outdoors, so what better place for them to get married than on a beautiful farm? Neltner’s Farm in Camp Springs, Kentucky, had everything they love: a pretty ceremony space with a backdrop of cornfields and hills, a yard for lawn games, a rustic barn with space for a tented reception, hay bales around a fire pit for s’mores and of course, lots of adorable farm animals. As a print and pattern designer, Julia loves color, so she chose a palette of vibrant colors, including yellow, aqua, purple, magenta and fuchsia. Inspired by the image of a 1950s farm, Julia created the stationery, posters and signs and decorated with vintage animal figurines, old milk jugs and produce crates. The dinner menu celebrated the farm-to-table concept, and incorporated homemade dishes such as jalapeno corn bread, Mexican corn salad, honey-glazed pork shoulder and braised chicken. Julia’s sister created the amazing wedding cake, which was covered in sparkly details with a pair of horses as the cake topper. And what’s a Kentucky wedding without bourbon? Julia and Brian were sure to serve bourbon apple cider and apple bourbon sangria along with Argentine wine as a nod to Julia’s heritage.
