A Whimsical Waterfront Wedding at The Branford House in Groton, Connecticut

Diahna Wood (30 and a conference coordinator) and Lovell Patton (34 and a computer specialist) each had a unique vision for their wedding day. “I loved the idea of an enchanted, whimsical wedding with rustic touches,” Diahna says. “Lovell’s style leans more classic. I wanted to incorporate both of our tastes into one event.” In the end, dinner under string lights at the castle-like Branford House honored Diahna’s storybook-esque vision, while gold touches and a neutral color palette channeled Lovell’s preferences. When it came to fashion, inspired by the look of Diner en Blanc, an event in which attendees dress in white for dinner, Diahna and Lovell asked their guests to rock neutral outfits, with cream being the central hue. Diahna chose a romantic lace look, while Lovell went glam, rocking a custom-made gold blazer. Panels with gold calligraphy alongside garlands of greenery marked tables.  Diahna’s favorite moment of the night was watching Lovell and his groomsmen perform a set they’d rehearsed for weeks to a mix of Bobby Brown jams.
