Inspired by the glitz associated with Old Hollywood glamour, newlyweds Danielle Benson (28 and an assistant buyer) and Charlie Bullinger (28 and a business development manager) used shades of champagne and ivory along with pops of gold to create a winter loft wedding at The Cheney Place in Grand Rapids. "I loved the idea of a wedding near the New Year," the bride says. "I kept the palette neutral and borrowed details from 'The Great Gatsby' and my Tarik Ediz wedding dress." Thanks to the venue's unique details -- like frosted warehouse windows and a turn-of-the-century freight elevator -- Danielle and Charlie were able to transform the loft space into a glam reception that was truly one of a kind. "The open layout of the space allowed me to be more creative than if we got married in a traditional ballroom," the bride says. "It really was the perfect balance of urban, vintage and modern." With the help of Fancy Fray -- a vintage-furniture rental company -- the couple made various seating vignettes using gold furniture to create an atmosphere that was chic yet casual. "One of my favorite details was the king and queen chairs that I used in place of folding chairs at our head table," the bride says. Guests enjoyed two specialty cocktails -- including a Moscow Mule and classic whiskey 7 and 7 -- throughout the night before celebrating with one unexpected detail. "We rented a video booth over a traditional photo booth," Danielle says. "Our guests had so much fun creating short videos, which were then printed out into personalized flip books!"

This Tarik Ediz wedding dress (complete with a beaded bodice) served as the inspiration for many of the day's small details.
Gold vases filled with ivory roses and hydrangeas added a pop of color to the venue's long dining tables.

"The open layout of the space was essentially a blank canvas that allowed me to be more creative compared to a traditional ballroom format," the bride says of her loft reception.
