A Yellow and Gray Wedding at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island, Michigan
After a prewedding vacation of biking, hiking and taking carriage rides around Mackinac Island, Michigan, Lori-Jene Brazier (28 and a chaplain) and Matt Ephraim (32 and a lawyer) knew they wanted to get married there. Together with 75 of their loved ones, they hosted their wedding at Mission Point Resort with a backdrop of the Mackinac Island Bridge, which of course made an appearance in their decor (check out the table numbers). Every detail reflected Lori-Jene and Matt. Inspired by the natural beauty of the island juxtaposed with the city skyline that was once part of their relationship, Lori-Jene and Matt incorporated a color theme of sunshine yellow paired with gray. As a nod to the island's relaxed, car-free setting, they even even laced a bicycle motif throughout their decor and wedding favors. Matt’s father, a passionate wedding planner with Top That Event, made sure the newlyweds got hitched without a hitch, and even created Lori-Jene’s bouquet with her favorite flowers: sunflowers, orchids and lilies. The wedding ceremony honored traditions from both families and included a story written and read by Matt’s sister. Later, Rockstar Digital played music selected by the newlyweds inspired by their parents’ record collections they grew up with, along with their favorite contemporary tunes. In the end, Lori-Jene and Matt gave everyone a welcome bag full of local Michigan gifts: Michigan cherries, fudge and Faygo. Brian Weitzel of BTW Photography made sure Lori-Jene and Matt laughed and had fun taking photographs throughout the day. See below.
