The round, four-tiered cake included alternating layers of dark chocolate frosting and ivory frosting decorated with a dot design. Cascading down the cake were fresh roses in the couple's wedding colors, a less expensive alternative to sugar flowers.
The Favors
In order for Aileen's Spanish-speaking, Cuban relatives to understand the ceremony, her mother (who also walked her down the aisle with her father) and uncle read Sonnet XVII, by Pablo Neruda in Spanish and English.

Aileen's sister, the only member of her bridal party, wore a floor-length Marchesa dress from Neiman Marcus that she picked out herself. It was a lucky break not having to coordinate with a group of bridesmaids! Josh also went custom with a hand-made suit by Nicholas Joseph. The ribbon around his calla lily boutonniere coordinated with his lavender Calvin Klein tie.
