An Adventurous Dogsledding Winter Wedding at Good Times Adventures in Breckenridge, Colorado
With their love for the freedom of being outdoors, particularly in Colorado, Tuyen Lam (36 and a freelance floral designer) and Simon Chiu (39 and a software developer) didn’t want to settle for a classic wedding. Every year, they take an annual snowboarding trip with friends, and three weeks before, decided it was the perfect opportunity to elope in one of their favorite places. The New York City-based couple used Good Times Adventures in Breckenridge, Colorado, to dogsled to and from their ceremony site (Simon’s favorite part!), but otherwise stayed in an airBnB with their friends. Tuyen chose to wear a bohemian BHLDN wedding dress with a lace overlay on the top and champagne tulle skirt. She loved how whimsical and carefree it was, plus, she knew it would hold up in the snow. It was even better that it arrived two days after she ordered it! She completed the look with a pair of practical Timberland boots and a purple and gray scarf from Urban Outfitters (which she found two days before they left) for the adventurous winter wedding. Simon wore a three-piece gray suit from SuitSupply in Manhattan, and although the couple didn’t tell each other what they were going to wear for the wedding, they ended up matching perfectly. Tuyen and Simon exchanged vows in an open space?among the evergreen trees high in the mountains. “We were surrounded by the openness and trees somewhere that made us both happy and free,” Tuyen says. “To incorporate our family who weren't able to attend our last minute elopement, we draped bunting that was made from items of clothing from us, as well as each of our family members.” They used a simple purple and gray color palette for their adventurous outdoor winter wedding.
