An Art Nouveau-Inspired Wedding at Round Peak Vineyard in Mt Airy, North Carolinain North Carolina
Lisa-Michelle Brower (27 and an academic advisor) and Charlie Forsyth (27 and a project manager) were friends for seven years before they finally started dating. It didn't take long for Charlie to propose and he popped the question during a fall trip to Colorado. "We were posing for a photo during a hike when Charlie reached into his pocket, saying he had a question for me," says Lisa-Michelle. "I was so excited that I lost control of my actions—I jumped up and down, shouting for joy and also reached in his pocket to find the ring!" Once Charlie calmed her down, the pair spent the next eight months planning their outdoor wedding at Round Peak Vineyard in Mt Airy, North Carolina. "We had romantic and natural DIY wedding with a splash of southern elegance," says Lisa-Michelle. "By far, one of my favorite pieces of décor was our lantern aisle markers—they were so meaningful with bunches of lush flowers on top and the 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 verses inside the lanterns, guiding me down the aisle!" The couple chose Art Nouveau as their wedding inspiration worked with muted shades of lavender, sage and peach with pops of pink and champagne to complement their vineyard setting. Dogwood was incorporated throughout the soft arrangements of peonies, clematis, astilbe, stock, Queen Anne’s lace and fresh lavender, because it's the North Carolina state flower. Escort cards attached to bunches of dried lavender doubled as sweet keepsakes and corks were added throughout the minimal decor including attached to the boutonnieres. "We really loved how or venue felt like we were in our own little world with our family and friends having a wonderful time dancing, playing yard games, wandering the vines or just enjoying the fire and the view!" says Lisa-Michelle.
