An Artsy Wedding at The Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, Massachusetts

After only three months of dating, Jack Brinkerhoff (31 and an engineer) gave Erin O’Leary (31 and a financial grant manager) a joint year-long membership to the Institute of Contemporary Art. “I thought, this guy must be serious,” Erin says. Many visits later, they returned to the museum to make an even more long-term commitment. The couple, who both come from families of artists, exchanged personal vows overlooking Boston Harbor, where Erin grew up sailing with her dad. They celebrated with a simple, modern reception that centered on summery flowers and the dramatic glass building.
Grasses, rudbeckia, amaranthus, ranunculus and roses formed a chic altar on the ICA’s patio.
Erin carried garden roses, dahlias, scabiosa, lisianthus, chokecherry, celosia and eucalyptus.
The newlyweds sliced into a buttercream-frosted carrot cake with cream cheese filling and served fresh fruit and Key lime tartlets, house-made Twinkies and Yodels, and mini jars of lemon meringue pie.
Guests took in views of Boston Harbor while sampling tuna tartare cornets, smoked duck, truffled wild mushrooms in roasted potato boxes and more.
