Rachel Crowl (29 and an accountant) and Robert Quinn (34 and a musician that works in sales) grew up only a few minutes away from each other, but it wasn’t until three years before they walked down the aisle that the two actually met on a blind date set up by their friends. “Time flew by on our first date and we felt like we had known each other forever,” says Rachel. Robert proposed two-and-a-half years later at their new home. ”Rob proposed on the first Tuesday night in our new house, just the two of us,” says Rachel. “He had planned on doing it the following weekend, but couldn’t wait once he picked up the ring that day.”For their wedding, the couple planned a festive fall affair at the Laurita Winery in New Egypt, NJ. “We wanted a smaller wedding, somewhere untraditional with just our closest family and friends to celebrate with us,” says Rachel. “The winery is absolutely beautiful and the indoor space where the reception was held is amazing — large, yet cozy with exposed wooden beams, two fireplaces and a large wrap-around terrace that overlooks the vineyards.” Inspired by the season and the wedding’s setting, the couple opted for a color palette in rich jewel tone hues, like red, purple, burgundy and orange, plus plenty of wine-inspired touches, like handmade wine cork escort cards and table numbers, a wine barrel guest book, chocolate dessert wine for the favors and stationery with a decorative wine glass stain pattern. Wanting to incorporate Robert’s love of music into the decor, Rachel and her mother made music-inspired vases for the centerpieces by decoupaging sheet music to mason jars. The evening’s musical selections were also high on the couple’s priority list. “With Rob being a musician, the bar was set high for music for the evening and it was unbelievable,” says Rachel. “There was a jazz quintet for the cocktail hour and a swing band with a singer for the rest of the night. For the band’s breaks, we rented a jukebox that turned into karaoke by then end of the night.” Interactive food stations, a fire pit and S’mores bar were a few extra details that went a long way with guests.
