An Earthy Outdoor Wedding at High Valley Resort and Airpark in Suches, Georgia

High Valley Resort and Airpark, nestled in the northern Georgia mountains, has been a near and dear vacation retreat for Hannah Nowland (24 and a teacher) and Joe Nowland (24 and a teacher) for many years. “During one of these stays, we began dreaming of getting married in the open field, surrounded by the beloved mountains where we had grown up and fallen in love, and where we eventually got engaged,” Hannah says. With the help of Pearls & Plaid Events, they designed their wedding day full of earth tones, surrounded by nature from start to finish. Hannah's sister Emily created wildflower arrangements for the bouquets and boutonnieres, which looked like they had been swept up from a flower field. For the reception, Hannah and Joe added a lot of DIY projects, including planted flowers and decor from home to create an inviting ambience in the tent. The whole celebration was intimate and centered on Hannah and Joe’s loved ones. “The thing that felt overwhelmingly special to us was being surrounded by our friends,” Hannah says. “We rented out the six cabins on-site and invited all our friends to stay with us the night before the wedding.” Raluca Rodila Photography captured all the sweet moments, below.
