An Easy Elegant Wedding in Allentown, NJ

Navy Ceremony Program
The bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink garden roses, pink freesia, white hydrangeas and pink lisianthus, which popped against their navy chiffon dresses. The guys all wore freesia boutonnieres: Aaron’s was white and the groomsmen’s were pink.
High and low centerpieces of blue and white hydrangeas, lisianthus, pink roses, pink and white lupine and hot pink gerbera daisies decorated the reception room and evoked an English garden feel.
Lauren’s “something blue” was her crystal-encrusted shoes. “With everything being so classic, I could be a little wild underneath,” she says. “And they matched the bridesmaid dresses and navy décor.”

The Wedding Rings
An exterior pocket held together the five separate printed pieces that came along with the invitation. “They required a lot of assembly,” according to Lauren. “I thought of the invitation as a preview of things to come. It was very important to me that it reflected the style of the wedding.”
The couple chose The Ashford Estate because they could have the entire venue to themselves, and it was important to Lauren and Aaron to honor their New Jersey roots by getting married in their home state. The ceremony took place in a rustic barn, which has exposed wood beams and a stone fireplace. The brick herringbone floor created a dramatic aisle runner. “I kept the ceremony decorations minimal since I felt like the building was unique and could speak for itself,” Lauren recalls.
Leaving the Ceremony
Lauren carried an understated bouquet of blush roses and white freesia. “The blush color of the roses matched the detailing on my gown,” she explains.

Lauren’s best advice: “Write nice thank you notes. People really do read and appreciate them. They took out the time to celebrate your big day and you should make sure they know how much it meant to you!”
The timeless feel of the venue set the tone for the day. “When I walked into The Ashford Estate, I was taken by the balance of the grandeur and rustic elegance,” Lauren remembers.
Simple Clean Menu Card
Lauren’s lace mermaid-style gown had a sweetheart neckline. “It was a modern shape with classic elements like the lace and beading below the bust line,” she explains. Aaron’s black tuxedo and textured shirt had “a Cary Grant look.”

The navy, pink and metallic theme was carried throughout the ceremony and reception décor. The three-tier round buttercream cake was adorned with fondant ribbon and bead details and decorated with pink sugar flowers. It was a “focal point in the ballroom and a sculptural work of art,” Lauren says.
