An Eclectic Organic Wedding at Dunaway Gardens in Newnan, Georgia

Margaux Sahlman (26 and an administrative assistant) stalked Bryan Walls's (29 and co-founder of profile page on, hoping he would send her a message. When that didn't work, Margaux made the first move and the couple dated for almost four years before Bryan surprised Margaux with an engagement ring. "I'd just graduated with my bachelors degree in geology and we planned on going to a fancy dinner to celebrate," says Margaux. "When we returned home, there were roses and Bryan got on one knee with the most perfect ring—I 've never ugly-cried so hard from happiness!" The pair spent the next nine months planning their nontraditional organic wedding at Dunaway Gardens in Newnan, Georgia. Margaux handmade her delicate sage lace gown to complement their earthy green and gold color palette. Huge green king protea were incorporated throughout the lush decor, from the bride’s oversized bouquet to the garland table runner. "I knew that a standard bouquet wasn't going to cut it, I wanted one giant flower—and it doesn't get much bigger or cooler than a king protea!" says Margaux. "These flowers are crazy —I have a degree in Geology and I think it's so cool that these flowers were around 80 million years ago—how could I not put them in my wedding when they're so obviously timeless? My florist even included a giant air plant which made my bouquet feel that much more pre-historic and awesome!" Dunaway gardens is located about an hour south of Atlanta on 20+ gorgeous & well maintained acres. The day was full of beautiful surprises around every corner.
