An Edgy, Industrial Wedding at The Joinery in Chicago

A single skylight and ample outdoor space were just two reasons Tiffany Aufmann (31 and a photographer) and Scott Brownley (33 and in law enforcement) immediately booked The Joinery for their fall fete. “Our venue had everything we were looking for,” Tiffany says. “It didn’t need fussy decorations to look beautiful.” As guests took their seats in turquoise bistro chairs, Tiffany made a last-minute decision to change up her processional minutes before the ceremony. “My mom and dad walked me down the aisle together,” she says. “It just felt right.” The couple made their wedding their own with ultra-personalized details, including a DIY neon altar handcrafted by Tiffany’s dad. "Wearing it felt like magic," Tiffany says of her blue silk and embroidered lace gown. Postceremony, she traded in her heels for high-top sneakers and a calligraphed leather jacket. “Our goal was to make our day feel fun and full of love,” she says. Guests noshed on Stan's Donuts and Mexican dishes for dinner.
