An Elegant Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Chesterfield, Missouri
Belle Rolfe's family founded R & R Horse Farm, a sanctuary for miniature horses, in Chesterfield, Missouri—and she chose the location for her wedding to Mason Oberg. "Our property is rather iconic in the area where we live, and it just made sense to have my wedding here, at home, surrounded by the people that I love and the place that I love most," she says. The wedding décor was classic, elegant and simple. "Mahogany wood chairs were lined in the woods for our ceremony, where the trees separated as if they had been planted to make way for an aisle over 50 years ago," Belle says. The natural grass aisle was lined with arrangements of white and blue hydrangeas, leading to a birch wood chuppah that was also adorned with flowers. "In addition, one of our rescue horses—a tiny dwarf named Martha—was my flower girl," Belle says. "Even Martha wore the most beautiful arrangement of flowers as she paraded down the aisle escorted by two perfectly matched little girls whom we have known since birth." The tented reception continued the day's elegant aesthetic. Guests sat at mahogany farm tables and round tables covered in taupe linen tablecloths. To end the evening, the bride's brother drove the newlyweds in her father's powder-blue 1969 Cadillac El Dorado convertible.
