"We really wanted our wedding to reflect our personal style, which is a blend of classic and modern elements," Laura Wehar (29 and an insurance producer at Rodgers Insurance Group) says of her wedding to Lou Guarino III (30 and in creative and sales at Louis Anthony Jewelers). The traditional ceremony at St. Bernard's Parish in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where Laura attended elementary school, focused on the beauty of the church with minimal decorations, while the reception at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh had gold vases, tablecloths and table numbers to enhance the room's elegance. Laura's bridesmaids wore floor-length black chiffon dresses in a style of their choosing.
Laura's bouquet consisted of ivory and white blooms, including orchids and greenery.
Lou's boutonniere featured a small arrangement of white orchids.
Laura wore a strapless blush Anne Barge fit-and-flare dress.
St. Bernard's Parish in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, didn't need much in the way of decoration. The couple placed bows at the end of alternating pews for a delicate effect.
Lou wore a black Burberry tuxedo with a white pleated shirt, a black bow tie and cummerbund and black diamond tuxedo studs and matching cuff links by David Yurman.
The ballroom at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was outfitted with a number of round tables covered in gold tablecloths. Tables featured alternating high and low centerpieces of blush and ivory blooms.
Tall gold vases with hanging strands of crystals were filled with white, blush and ivory roses, orchids, hydrangeas and more.
The bridal party's reception table featured four gold candelabras with small floral arrangements atop. Glass vases were filled with floating candles.
Table numbers were gold cutout markers surrounded by delicate roses and baby's breath. Small votive candles highlighted each table.
The cake's five tiers had different designs, including an iced rose center layer. It was vanilla cake with Italian buttercream frosting and fresh strawberry compote filling.
The "L&L" logo (for Laura and Lou) appeared on the invitations, the menus, the cocktail napkins and more.
