An Elegant, Coastal Wedding at the Samoset Resort in Rockland, Maine

Kristin Jacques (29 and a pediatric nurse practitioner) and Timmy Ho (30 and a neonatologist) met at Boston Children’s Hospital, where they were both working, and despite a bad first impression and a bit of profuse apologizing on Timmy’s part, Kristin agreed to a date. The pair hit it off on that very first evening at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, where they enjoyed Pino’s Pizza and a striking sunset. Two years later, Timmy popped the question, asking Kristin to marry him after a brief scavenger hunt (and the help of a favorite Curious George doll) at her childhood home in Maine. The couple planned a classic summer affair at the Samoset Resort in Rockland, Maine, drawing on the season and the beautiful coastal setting for inspiration. They chose a cheerful coral and teal color palette for the occasion and filled the day with subtle nautical touches that spoke to the waterfront locale. The day started with a ceremony overlooking Penobscot Bay, in which Kristin and Timmy shared heartfelt vows they’d written themselves, followed by an outdoor cocktail hour with panoramic ocean views and an elegant ballroom reception. Hoboken Gardens infused the day with color and life with bunches of fresh garden roses, hydrangeas, hypericum berries and lisianthuses, while the Samoset Resort pleased even the most discerning palates with a decadent menu of lobster cobbler, tomato cognac bisque, sirloin and haddock. Three Dogs Cafe stole the show with a three-tier confection with nautical flair and DJ Jeff Rockwell kept the dance floor packed all night long with plenty of upbeat tunes.
