“Our theme was simple, since the venue already had so much to offer, and I didn’t want to take anything away from its beauty,” Nancy Bazzi (31 and a pharmacist) says of exchanging vows at Le Belvedere in Wakefield, Quebec. She and Indesh Singh (35 and an electronics buyer) were smitten with the venue from the moment they set foot on its grounds, thanks to its striking scenery, innate sense of intimacy and chic interiors. The ceremony highlighted Wakefield’s natural beauty, with the couple saying “I do” under a pavilion overlooking acres of lush greenery and rolling hills. With a simple white palette and a sleek modern aesthetic, the reception took on a more contemporary tone. “I kept the linens white since I liked the crisp, clean look, plus I wanted the gorgeous backdrop to stand out,” Nancy says. Details such as fern-trimmed flower arrangements and wooden pedestals hinted subtly at the setting. The couple made sure to weave in a few custom touches throughout to put a personal spin on the soiree, treating guests to a family-style vegetarian meal and having a traditional Lebanese drummer play during their grand entrance. “Once you hear the drums playing, it makes you really want to get up and dance,” Nancy says. “I also purchased belly dancing scarves for the ladies to get them on the dance floor. It was so much fun!” A tip from Nancy: “Things don’t have to be perfect. Just remember, it’s about marrying your best friend and starting an exciting new chapter in your life. Your friends and family will have fun regardless of the little things that may not have turned out exactly the way you had envisioned.” —Libby MacCarthy

With Le Belvedere's picturesque setting, innate sense of intimacy and chic interiors, Nancy and Indesh were smitten the moment they set foot on the property in Wakefield, Quebec. Taking advantage of the beautiful scenery, the couple took photos outdoors following the ceremony.
“I wanted to stick to a simple yet elegant look for my wedding day, since it’s more in line with my everyday style,” Nancy says of her Rivini wedding gown. The romantic lace overlay gave the look a romantic feel, while the gown’s mermaid-style silhouette was the picture of modern elegance.
A bit of glitz and glamour was definitely in order for Nancy’s wedding day, and a pair of crystal-embellished Badgley Mischka pumps were the perfect fit. Bearing blush gems on the heels, the steppers offered a punch of pizazz to her elegant Rivini gown.
Trillium Floral Designs amped up the drama of Nancy’s down-the-aisle ensemble with a textured bouquet of eucalyptus, roses and deep purple chrysanthemums.
Wanting to make things easy for her bridesmaids, Nancy had her girls choose their own dresses, requesting only that they stick to soft blush tones. The girls wore their hair down in loose romantic curls and accessorized with understated jewelry.
While his groomsmen sported gray suits and pink ties, Indesh opted for a look all his own. He had a custom three-piece navy suit made by Indochino for the occasion, which he paired with sharp brown oxfords and a pale pink tie. “He looked like a Bollywood movie star in it, and I couldn’t get over how handsome he looked," Nancy says.
The ceremony highlighted the setting’s natural beauty, with the couple saying “I do” under a pavilion overlooking acres of lush greenery and rolling hills. “We had a friend taping the whole thing with a GoPro and drone. At one point, the drone was making funny noises over our heads and we thought it would fall on us, which made everyone chuckle and helped calm our nerves a bit,” Nancy says. “But the footage turned out amazing.”
While nature was the focus of Nancy and Indesh's outdoor ceremony, the reception took on a more contemporary tone with a simple white palette and a sleek modern aesthetic. “I kept the linens white, since I liked the crisp, clean look, plus I wanted the gorgeous backdrop to stand out,” Nancy says.
At the end of the evening, Nancy and Indesh sent their guests home with s’mores kits to enjoy as a late-night snack. The sweet treats captured the laid-back vibe of Le Belvedere's woodland setting and were decorated with personalized gift tags with the couple’s names and wedding date.
In addition to traditional wedding cake, Nancy and Indesh served decadent bite-size treats, including classic cannoli dusted with powdered sugar.
The dessert display was a bona fide work of art, overflowing with decadent after-dinner delights, such as ivory and gold cake balls decorated with blush sugar flowers.
Not wanting to detract from the natural beauty of the scenery surrounding Le Belvedere, the couple kept things simple when it came to the reception decor. Wooden pedestals, burlap ribbon and lush ferns captured the rustic vibe of the setting, while soft full blooms and sleek white linens inspired a contemporary tone.
While Nancy and Indesh served a selection of mouthwatering desserts after dinner, they also had a small wedding cake for the traditional cake-cutting custom. The two-tier confection featured textured white buttercream frosting and a cascade of pink roses, lilies and ferns for a hint of romance and whimsy.
