An Elegant Fall Wedding at The Water's Edge at Marshy Point in Baltimore, Maryland

Scott (29 and a systems engineer) and Jennifer (30 and a trauma nurse) were introduced by mutual friends and a local bar, but they didn't meet again until seven months later on a group trip to the Outer Banks. They exchanged numbers and went on their first date soon after, saying, "as far as we can tell, our first date hasn't ended yet." When it came to the proposal, Scott took Jen to his family lake house in the Poconos, where he prepared a small picnic in the backyard with wine, a charcuteries platter, and a mysterious brown box. Scott got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife (and some very excited dogs spilled a bottle of wine!) before they celebrated with champagne and called their families. They got married on the Chesapeake Bay at The Water's Edge at Marshy Point in Baltimore, Maryland. Jen decided on a fall color palette of yellow (her favorite color), burgundy, and gray with gorgeous natural floral arrangements to complement the venue's working nursery. She even had her florist make earrings out of yellow billy balls for her bridesmaids! Wanting to create a warm and social atmosphere, the couple served a family-style dinner at long rustic reception tables to encourage guests to get to know one another better. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, they had a selection of miniature pies and a whole separate ice cream bar with assorted flavors, including their favorite, salted caramel. The caterer also provided popcorn as a late night snack. For favors, the couple gave flower seed cards and made a donation to the Kennedy Krieger institute in memory of the groom's younger brother, Greg. Jen points out how she "loved getting her hands dirty to make sure every guest had a truly memorable experience." From the simple rustic decor to the touching personal details, Scott and Jennifer's wedding was both elegant and unforgettable.
