An Elegant Formal Wedding in Mount Vernon, Colorado
Jonathan Dismuke (27 and a construction professional) and Kari Quinn (28 and an event planner) met in college through mutual friends. Their first date was at an Colorado Avalanche hockey game, where the couple ended up on the Kiss Cam. Jonathan proposed on a weekend trip to Blackhawk for their anniversary weekend. He popped the question on the rooftop of their hotel, overlooking the snowy Blackhawk canyon. Kari and Jonathan decided to get married on their 7-year anniversary as a couple. Since Kari worked in the wedding industry, she knew she wanted a wedding that was different than the weddings she saw on a regular basis. "On our wedding day, our goal was to celebrate our “LOVE” and share it with our family and friends as we embark on our new venture of husband and wife," Kari said. The couple decided on The Mount Vernon Country Club with a reception at the Cable Center. Jonathan grew up in the mountains, and it was important to him to find a ceremony site that had gorgeous Colorado mountain views, while Kari thought the Cable Center added a fun twist to their day. The couple wanted a free-flowing reception, where guests could wander around and dance. They served comfort food and bar food at various food stations, as well as four different cakes. A fun dance party was also important to the couple, so they hired and DJ and set up a professional photo booth to entertain guests. After dancing all night long, guests snacked on mini breakfast burritos before heading to the after party.
