An Elegant, Glamorous Wedding at Casa Loma in Toronto, Ontario
Old Hollywood glamour was the guiding principle for Alana O’Neill (26 and a finance administrator) and Fraser Close’s (29 and a program solutions manager) late September nuptials in Toronto, Ontario. “We thought we would elope for the longest time, but we soon realized we wanted to share our special day with the people we love,” says Alana.
Casa Loma, Toronto’s iconic Gothic Revival ‘castle,’ provided the ultimate backdrop for the affair, with its luxurious finishes and ornate architectural detailing. The couple took advantage of the many unique spaces throughout the mansion to give each portion of the day a distinct feel, beginning with the Conservatory, where the ceremony unfolded. Alana and Fraser exchanged vows under an awe-inspiring domed roof decorated with stunning stained glass. Between the room’s innate allure and the lush plantings woven through, the pair decided against additional decor, allowing the space’s one-of-a-kind features to shine through.
The newlyweds and their guests then moved into the Oak Room for a night of dinner and dancing. Mahogany wood paneling and an intricate ceiling baring sparkling crystal chandeliers tied in seamlessly with the couple’s glamorous theme, while skyward reaching arrangements of eucalyptus, hydrangeas, roses and more brought an air of freshness and ladylike elegance to the old world interiors.
After dinner, Nth Degree DJs packed the dance floor with a party-ready set list, while a photo booth stocked with silly props inspired lots of laughter and fun.
