An Elegant Gold and Blush Wedding at the Lodge on Whitefish Lake in Whitefish, Montana

Tia Raats (26 and a teacher) and James Black (39 and a mortgage broker) met when Tia rented the lower level of Jim's house. They became best friends and started dating, and in less than a year they were living together upstairs. “People love the story when we tell them,” Tia says. They chose their venue, the Lodge on Whitefish Lake in Whitefish, Montana, because it holds a special place in Tia’s heart: It’s where she grew up vacationing with her family, with memories of “being out on the lake all day with family and friends.” When Tia introduced Jim to the Lodge, they decided it was the ideal location for their nuptials. The couple personalized their wedding with a color scheme of blush, cream, burlap and sparkles, meaningful signs, and flowers and favors. "You never know where life will take you," Tia says. "Everything is truly meant to be.” —Chrissy Sorenson
