An Romantic Gold Wedding at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Chauncey Caldwell (29 and a resident physician) and George Florin Barbulescu (29 and a digital sales executive) met in 2007 and got engaged during a trip to Europe while visiting George's childhood home in Romania. Their goal was to find a US venue with similar architectural designs and delicate details. “The Broadmoor proved to be everything we were looking for,” Chauncey says. They liked the vintage chandeliers and sophisticated gold accents, perfectly matching their theme of “golden vintage elegance,” based on the bride’s love of “any and everything gold.” Their special day was filled with gold, glitter and glam, with royal blue accents, bedazzling bridal brooch bouquets and geo-chic centerpieces. “Planning a wedding during intern year of residency and working 80-hour weeks wasn’t easy, but it came out beautifully,” Chauncey says. Their relationship is built on a shared sense of adventure, fun, respect and kindness. They are the best of friends. “After 10 years we continue to learn and grow with each other,” she says. “Our motto is to treat every day as if it’s our last, and never take each other for granted.” —Chrissy Sorenson
