An Elegant Hawaiian Wedding at Dillingham Ranch in Waialua, Hawaii
Rachel Lin (26 and an analyst in economic consulting) and William Ehrman (27 and a senior associate in health-care consulting) traveled to the groom’s home state of Hawaii to tie the knot in an elegant ceremony under a 200-year-old Chinese banyan tree on the Big Island.
“The ranch captured that Hawaiian essence—the mountains, the greenery, the gorgeous trees—without feeling like a cliché wedding destination,” Rachel says of choosing to skip a beachside celebration.
Treats included a five-tier guava-and-chocolate-Kahlua confection that honored Hawaiian flavors along with a cake made from stacked wheels of cheese.
“We turned the leftovers into a grilled-cheese station at the end of the night,” Rachel says. “It was the perfect late-night snack.”
While Rachel initially wanted a gown with sleeves, she immediately fell in love with the second dress she tried on—a strapless design made of French lace with more than seven different layers of fabric. “I was enamored by how much detail went into it,” she says.
