An Elegant, Intimate Wedding at Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii
April Delossantos (30, a marketing coordinator) and Ken MacDonald (50, an event promoter) worked at the same company, and what began as a friendship slowly turned into a romantic relationship. Six years later, the couple got engaged on New Year’s Eve. Ken surprised April with reservations at an upscale restaurant called One Fish, Two Fish, which she didn't think anything of. Before leaving the house, Ken insisted on showing April the Christmas lights he set up outside. Ken brought April up the to the balcony, revealing to her the lights that spelled out “Marry me” as Ken got down on one knee with a round cut diamond ring. The couple decided to get married at Halekulani Hotel’s Hau Terrace on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii where they first vacationed together and fell in love. April wore a white strapless wedding dress designed by Suzanne Ermann and a veil accented with Swarovski crystals. Ken wore a tan suit with a green and pink tie by Tommy Hilfiger. The couple had a simple and elegant theme throughout the wedding day by having an intimate guest list of 16 people, a single family-styled table with one long centerpiece and minimal decor to highlight the surrounding tropical backdrop . Shades of pink and green with subtle touches of brown and blue decorated the orchid arrangements, trellis and chiavari chairs at the reception and even the three-tiered wedding cake decorated with sugar flowers!
