An Elegant Mansion Wedding at Highlands Ranch Mansion in Highlands Ranch, Colorado

Nicole Case (26 and a set decorator) and David O'Connell (26 and a retail department supervisor) worked with minimal decor to showcase their gorgeous mansion venue, a place that held personal significance, since Nicole's father is the director of public works for the mansion, and was head of the restorations done a few years prior. "He worked so hard on the building, and is still so involved with it, it was great to have our family's first wedding there," Nicole says. A color palette of deep blues and green paired with natural, minimal flowers did a great job of highlighting the mansion's art nouveau motifs. Nicole wore a vintage inspired organza and lace dress, and a seamstress added the delicate lace sleeves. She carried a fresh green bouquet filled with ferns, a nod to New Zealand's silver fern, which is their national symbol. New Zealand touches were found throughout the decor, since that's David's home country and it's also where the couple met, in Wellington, when Nicole was studying abroad. The table numbers were botanical drawings of native New Zealand flora and birds and displayed next to the romantic candelabra centerpieces.
