An Elegant Modern Wedding at Muse Event Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota

With a classic affair in mind, Michelle Halverson (32 and works in facility management) and Brent Wilhelm (34 and works in inventory management) pulled off an elegant midsummer soiree at Muse Event Center in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a palette of blue, green and silver hues. The ceremony was at Basilica of St. Mary, a sentimental spot for the couple, who started attending Mass together there years before. With its impressive ceilings and ornate architecture, little was needed in the way of decoration. Michelle and Brent exchanged traditional, heartfelt vows, then led their guests to Muse Event Center for a night of dinner and dancing. “We were looking for something a little different,” Michelle says. “We liked the fact that it had two levels and was a great open space.” The modern, light-filled space provided the perfect backdrop for the couple’s whimsical decor, with quilted navy table linens and skyward-reaching arrangements of white blooms and wispy branches setting a contemporary cool tone for the evening. Suspended votive candles dotted the room, filling the space with soft, romantic light. After dinner, Michelle and Brent treated their friends and family members to an assortment of mini desserts, then ushered everyone onto the dance floor to get the party started. A tip from Michelle: “Have fun and enjoy yourself as you plan. Take a step back during the reception to take everything in.
