An abundance of fresh greenery and full florals lent Caroline Carty (30 and a high school English teacher) and Thomas Applegate’s (31 and a software consultant) wedding a natural, elegant vibe. Both Caroline and Thomas wanted a ceremony on the water, so guests walked through distressed wood doors swathed in green to a spot overlooking Sandy Hook Bay. The two exchanged vows underneath a eucalyptus arch accented with white and blush blooms. Pale green and navy highlighted the subdued palette, showing up in the wedding party attire and stationery. “The look had some whimsical and fun elements thrown in,” Caroline says. Cocktail hour consisted of a cozy setup by the water with a vintage rug and antique furniture. Guests swayed to a three-piece jazz band while enjoying seafood and a twist on a classic: pork roll and cheese sliders. Later, they toasted the end of the night with miniature Oreo milkshakes and zeppole fries.
