Gena Haugen (26 and a government employee) and Josh Stern (30 and an attorney) chose a theme that was simple and elegant, which fit perfectly with their location: overlooking the New York City skyline. A color palette of hydrangea blue and cream emphasized the warm, bright June weather for their wedding. Inspired by their palette, the flowers were blue hydrangeas and white roses. The couple's ceremony was held outdoors on a pier next to the Hyatt, with gorgeous, sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline. The decor was kept simple to emphasize the backdrop, except for the gorgeously decorated chuppah overflowing with blue hydrangeas, white roses, and lemon leaves. Gena wore a strapless mermaid gown with lace detail and a sparkly beaded belt, paired with silvery Jimmy Choo pumps. The bridesmaids wore bright cobalt blue J. Crew dresses, and the groomsmen wore classic black suits. For the reception, everyone enjoyed a customized menu featuring the couple's favorite highlight: an appetizer of blueberry ravioli with micro basil. At the end of the night, each guest was sent home with two Dunkin' Donuts each, frosted blue and white, a nod to the color palette.
