Amanda Vitols (26, an accountant) and Michael Meader (26, a police officer) went to the same high school, but never spoke to each other once.“While we were in college, our mutual friends would plan an annual white water rafting trip,” Amanda says. “One summer while we were both single during this trip, Mike had the courage to confront me on the deck and admit that he thought I was really cute in high school. Me, being the stubborn thick-headed girl that I am, rolled my eyes and walked back inside. Good thing Mike is persistent, and after a few more attempts I gave in and we decided to give it a go. Fast forward five years. Mike had planned a nice weekend getaway for just the two of us one weekend in December. We drove up through the beautiful white mountains, stopped at our favorite brewery, and he surprised me with a night at the White Mountain Hotel & Resort. Once we got comfortable and settled in, we enjoyed some chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne before he handed me a photo book that detailed our entire relationship which ended with a proposal. I couldn't have asked for a more romantic and intimate proposal.”The wedding ceremony and reception were held at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel. “Mike and I both wanted the wedding to be on the water and ideally located on Cape Cod,” Amanda says. “We found Sea Crest and I knew immediately that this was the location we would have our wedding. The wedding was a two-night, weekend affair and all guests were given a welcome bag with a detailed itinerary and goodies to help them through the weekend. Guests were welcome to join us after the rehearsal dinner and party into the night. The following day, all the guests were able to enjoy each other’s company either on the beach or on the golf course while the bridal party was busy getting ready.”

"The stationery was done by a close friend of ours who was able to help me design each element and bring my vision to life," Amanda says. "It was truly an amazing process to create a vision and see then end product as perfect as you had imagined. I couldn't have asked for a better day."
"I wanted all of the flowers to be clean, crisp and white with as little green as possible," Amanda says. "This would really help make the blue accents pop."
"We wanted to have a beach ceremony and an indoor reception with panoramic views of the ocean," Amanda says. "My number one concern during the venue selection process was the back up ceremony location in the event of adverse weather. Sea Crest was the only location with a back up ceremony location equally as beautiful as the beach ceremony."
"The girls chose the style dress they wanted and I chose the color and fabric," Amanda says. "They were able to be barefoot during the ceremony then changed into their beige heels for the evening."
"The men were in Perry Ellis suits," Amanda says. "The groomsmen wore the pants, vest and a tie that was given to them as a gift while Mike wore the three piece suit and a white tie to match my dress. They also wore white Polo boat shoes which really made the colors of the suit come together."
"After the wedding reception and after party came to a close, we had an after after party in the courtyard outside of our rooms where guests stayed up until the early morning hours and enjoyed the rest of a beautiful evening on the Cape," Amanda says.
"We had a cocktail hour in a courtyard overlooking the beach," Amanda says. "During this time, the guests were served a variety of cheeses, vegetables, bacon wrapped scallops and sliders. The guests also enjoyed an open bar during this time. The wedding then moved into the reception hall and guests were given warm bread, salad and a choice of surf and turf or stuffed chicken."
"My theme was elegant rustic beach," Amanda says. "I had two colors -- white and bright turquoise blue. The blue that I chose really popped well with the white and it was the perfect color scheme. At times it was challenging to match the blue with all of the decorations, but I made it work."
"Everyone raved about how good the food was and that Sea Crest provided the best wedding meal that they have ever eaten," Amanda says. "The chefs are truly talented."
