An Elegant, Provencal Wedding at Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis, New York

“With cottages for our family, bunks for our friends, pools, tennis and basketball courts, a gorgeous lake, a stunning mountaintop, an elegant barn, unbelievable farm-fresh food and the most incredible team, we knew it was the perfect spot,” Sharon says of exchanging vows with Miles at Cedar Lakes Estate in Port Jervis, New York. Drawing inspiration from the picturesque setting, the pair opted for an elegant Provencal aesthetic, filling the lofty barn with wooden farm tables, cross-back chairs, chandeliers and lush arrangements of white and green blooms. With the entire lakeside retreat at their disposal, the couple and their guests took full advantage of the camp’s amenities, spending the weekend kayaking, swimming, hiking, playing tennis and taking yoga classes. “There were also arts-and-crafts stations, like lanyard making,” Sharon says. A tip from Sharon: “Make it last as long as possible, and pretend you’re a guest as much as you can. Don’t do things just because they’re expected—do it your way. Also, do as much of the prep on your own and make it a family activity. It made the wedding last longer, allowed us to spend quality time with each other and definitely made it a lot more fun.” —Libby MacCarthy
