An Elegant, Provincial Wedding at the Monastery Event Center in Cincinnati, Ohio
Gabrielle Buckley (24 and a small business owner) and James Mahone (24 and an electrician) outfitted their venue in shades of pink, green and gold to achieve a clean, elegant and simple aesthetic for their spring wedding in Cincinnati. The historic Monastery Event Center was a natural choice for the couple, who played up the venue’s charming old-world interior with low-lying arrangements of roses and ranunculus. For the ceremony, bunches of eucalyptus and oversize, moss-filled lanterns lined the length of the aisle. “We loved that the monastery makes it a priority to maintain a lot of its historic detailing,” Gabrielle says. Before rounding up guests for a classic sparkler send-off, the newlyweds cut into a sleek garden-rose-topped buttercream cake filled with sweet raspberry mousse. Partygoers then took home handcrafted gold candles from the bride’s personal Etsy shop. “They were a hit,” Gabrielle says.
