An Elegant, Romantic Wedding at Skylands Manor in Ringwood, New Jersey
Vida Lee and Eric Han's romantic wedding was inspired by an English garden, with its color palette of blush and white with plenty of greenery and pops of yellow. The couple introduced their theme with invitations displaying watercolor floral designs and calligraphy, which were even sent to guests in China. With a background in fashion, Vida chose a ball gown with a flowing tulle skirt, lots of layers and a delicate beaded lace top. She rocked a blown-out down hairstyle and carried a classic loose bouquet of white garden roses, peonies and ranunculus. Eric wore a blue suit with a bow tie. The ceremony took place in a luxurious garden on the Skylands Manor property. "We used rose petals to line the aisles and adorn the front rows of the ceremony seats to designate reserved seating," Vida says. The florist also created an arch that served as a focal point, lush with greenery, leaves and soft flowers that coordinated with the color palette. Vida subsequently changed into a full-length red lace gown for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, where family showered the couple with gifts and jewelry. "We are both Chinese, so we incorporated the ceremony into our reception," Vida says. "It's a way to pay respect and gratitude to our elders and symbolizes us entering into a new family." The remainder of the evening's festivities was in a sailcloth tent. Décor included white linens, gold chiavari chairs and bistro lights that hung overhead. The couple served a classic tiered fondant wedding cake and shared a dance under the stars. "Our DJ was one of our favorite parts of the night. We were pretty particular in tailoring our playlist with our DJ to reflect our style and tastes in music," Vida says.
