An Elegant, Romantic Wedding with Rustic Flair at Silver Oaks Chateau in Pacific, Missouri
Amy Erwin (27 and an assistant service manager) and Michael (Mike) Danuser’s (27 and a geologist) ethereal garden party was infused with a romantic color palette of blush, champagne and wisteria along with personalized DIY details made by the couple.
“Everything at our wedding reflected what we love and who we are,” Amy says of ultra-personal accents that included handmade wood signs and a weathered ceremony arch made from pocket doors salvaged from a local mansion. “The homeowner’s ‘trash’ was our treasure,” Amy says.
“The venue owner explained his vision to us and we were sold,” Amy says of booking the brand-new space before construction was complete.
Amy’s 4-year-old niece scattered pink flower petals down the outdoor aisle.
All 10 of Amy’s bridesmaids wore a floor-length gown in a subtle shade of pink or mauve. “Some of the dresses were tulle and others were chiffon,” Amy says of the romantic sheaths. “In the end, everyone was happy, comfortable and in love with their look.”
Metallic votives and centerpieces housed in gold vessels popped against navy table runners.
“Why have one piece of cake when you can have three or four doughnuts?” Amy says of their reasoning behind building a DIY doughnut wall to display postdinner treats. St. Louis–based baker Strange Donuts supplied the sweets, which ranged in flavors from French toast to salted caramel.
