An Elegant Summer Wedding at the Lakeridge Country Club in Lubbock, Texas
Brianna Hinojos (23 and an elementary school teacher) and Barrett Robinson (26 and a high school teacher and football coach) planned a classic summer wedding with a soft white, gold and blush color palette. When it came to choosing a location to tie the knot, the Lakeridge Country Club in Lubbock, Texas seemed like the ideal spot. The sweeping lawns, lush trees and beautiful blue ponds and waterfall fit perfectly with the wedding’s elegant, summer theme. “We also chose this location because Barrett grew up playing golf and over our six years of dating, he also taught me to golf,” says Brianna. “It’s now something that we enjoy doing together in the summer.”
Before heading to the clubhouse for a night of dinner and dancing, the couple exchanged vows under a lavish floral wedding arch overlooking the golf course. Rose petals ran the length of the aisle and cascading arrangements of wildflowers and airy fabric added a romantic, whimsical touch to the end of alternating rows. As guests made their way to their seats, they were greeted a series of wooden signs handcrafted by Brianna’s grandfather.
Though the reception took place indoors, the newlyweds and their guests continued to profit from the beautiful scenery; large windows dotting the room gave way to views of the vibrant green golf course and quaint ponds. With the help of Carol Gary at Dayspring Designs, the couple brought the beauty of the summer season indoors with elegant arrangements of hydrangeas, lilies, baby’s breath, orchids, roses and hyacinths in high and low styles. Elements like burlap linens and votive candles worked to create a fusion of rustic charm and romance. As a nod to Brianna’s Mexican heritage, her grandmother made hundreds of biscochos, Mexican wedding cookies, for guests to enjoy after dinner. Barrett’s close friend and DJ kept the dance floor packed all night long and a custom photo booth kept gave family and friends a fun way to remember the evening. A tip for the taking from Brianna and Barrett: "Remember what weddings are about. Don't stress over little details; Have fun with the planning because it goes by fast and remember that you're marrying the love of your life, which is what it's all about, celebrating your love for one another."
