An Elegant, Tented Wedding at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron, Ohio

While planning their June wedding, Sarah Beirne (23 and a substitute teacher) and Chad Thompson (27 and a financial adviser) gravitated toward the well-manicured grounds of the historic Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens in Akron, Ohio. "The mansion is surrounded by several beautiful gardens," Sarah says of their verdant venue. "The whole environment made our wedding feel like an absolute dream." Dressed in a strapless Lea-Ann Belter ball gown, Sarah clutched a punchy arrangement of peonies, silver brunia and dusty miller during their alfresco ceremony behind the mansion. "Chad and I didn't do a first look since I'd always envisioned seeing him for the first time as I walked down the aisle," Sarah says. "I'll forever remember the first moment I saw Chad standing there, looking at me." Immediately after sealing the deal, the newlyweds retreated with 200 guests to a tented reception on the lawn, which was elegantly adorned with pearl-embellished linens, ornate chandeliers and soft draping. "During the reception we stood outside the tent for a few minutes to observe our family and friends enjoying themselves," Sarah says. "We were blown away knowing that this amazing wedding was a celebration of the two of us." —Rachel Sylvester
