An Elegant, Timeless Wedding at the Riviera Ballroom in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin

With the help of the planning pros at Something Blue, Grace Goro and K.C. Kaage pulled off an elegant affair with playful twists that spoke to their fun-loving personalities.

Though the pair calls Chicago home, they chose Lake Geneva to serve as the backdrop for their autumnal “I dos.” “Lake Geneva has always had a special place in our hearts,” Grace explains. “K.C.’s parents have a home just outside the town, and it’s a place we like to get away to where we can relax and just be ourselves. To us, there’s nowhere in the world as charming as Lake Geneva in the fall. We wanted to invite our guests up to experience for themselves how enchanting it really is.”

An outdoor ceremony at the Grand Geneva Resort accomplished just that, providing views of the serene landscape and colorful fall foliage. The waterfront reception at the Riviera Ballroom put Lake Geneva on display, while tall arrangements of white roses and lilies, gold chiavari chairs, and shimmery gold table runners brought the couple’s vision to life.

“Perhaps nothing represented our aesthetic more than our band,” Grace says. “They wore beautiful, timeless suits until late in the evening, then changed into T-shirts and shorts to perform their final set for a raucous, cheering crowd. It was amazing!”
