An Elegant, Traditional Wedding at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa in La Jolla, California
Paige Breon and Michael D'Arrigo wanted a classic, sophisticated wedding with romantic undertones and a soft color palette. The day started with a Catholic ceremony at The Immaculata on the grounds of the University of San Diego, where the couple first met. "We both come from Catholic backgrounds, and seeing our families and friends participate in the Catholic traditions of our ceremony as we were pronounced husband and wife was something I will never forget," Paige says. The reception, which took place at Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa, felt elegant with its well-placed uplighting and Spanish-style architecture. "We wanted our décor to simply enhance the already stunning venues and their features, like Estancia’s herringbone wood floors, textured walls and tiered wagon-wheel chandeliers," Paige says. The head table impressed guests with blush-colored flower arrangements, greenery garlands and taper candles in glass votives. Slate and charcoal accents broke up the overarching soft color scheme. An abundant dessert table included a fondant cake with a unique wafer paper design, as well as a dessert medley of churro and vanilla bean doughnuts, almond apricot and peaches n’ cream dessert cups, chocolate cream puffs, and raspberry and white chocolate macarons. Paige stunned in a crepe fit-and-flare gown with intricate lace details, jeweled floral appliqué on the bodice and detachable drop sleeves. She accessorized with a raw-edge cathedral veil with a subtle gemstone trim. Michael wore a classic black tux with a satin lapel, tie and ivory boutonniere.
