An Elegant, Traditional Wedding at River Landing Clubhouse in Wallace, North Carolina
Tara Rackley (24 and a 1st grade teacher) and Zach Laymon (24 and a restaurant cook) met through mutual friends and instantly hit off. Just two years later, Zach asked Tara to marry him, proposing in front of his entire family at their lake house on Lake Gaston in North Carolina.Timeless, elegance was the inspiration for the couple’s July nuptials. A traditional religious ceremony at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, where Tara attended mass growing up, kicked off the day, before the couple and their guests headed to River Landing Clubhouse in Wallace, NC for the reception. The church was decorated to the nines with fresh bunches of hydrangeas, curly willow, cascading greenery and bows, giving the church a fresh, summery, yet refined feel. Candles dotted the ceremony altar adding a romantic glow to the space. The ballroom at the Landing Clubhouse was the perfect fit for the traditional, sophisticated feel of the reception. The cathedral ceilings were dotted with impressive crystal chandeliers and the room’s warm décor flowed seamlessly with the wedding’s soft pink, yellow, gold, white and neutral color palette. To keep things interesting, Tara and Zach opted to use several different styles for their centerpieces, which ranged from lanterns to candelabras and modern cascading arrangements with mirror pedestals. “I Spy” cards encouraged guests to capture fun and memorable moments throughout the evening and a candy bar stocked with tasty treats allowed guests to satisfy their sweet tooth before hitting the dance floor.
