An Elegant, Urban Wedding at Golden Gate Club in San Francisco, California

Nicole Kalinske (28 and in pediatric residency) and Ryan Gendron (28 and a high school social studies teacher) wanted to have their elegant wedding at a venue that showcased the charm of San Francisco, California. It was no surprise that they picked the Golden Gate Club—the name says it all. "We wanted to play up the California theme for our out-of-town guests," Nicole says. "We loved how the venue's enormous windows included views of Golden Gate Bridge." The day began with a ceremony at Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, where the outdoor garden location combined Nicole's love for nature and Ryan's love for historical architecture. Romantic shades of peach, coral and white accented the wedding day through flower arrangements—from the bright pink peony and rose aisle arrangements all the way to branch centerpieces speckled with white blooms that decorated the reception. Gray linens and lace runners covered long tables where guests sat for the evening's meal, marked with burlap numbers bordered by wooden frames. Our favorite detail? Nicole's ivory Monique Lhuillier gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and a trumpet-style silhouette, accented with lace starting at the bodice and trailing off at the bottom of the tulle skirt overlay. A romantic dress fit for nuptials that were nothing short of elegant.

Nicole naturally gravitated toward a gown with some lace accents. When she saw the ivory dress with off-the-shoulder sleeves, she couldn't resist. "When I found the Monique Lhuillier gown that was trumpet-style with lace embellishment, I instantly fell in love—it was perfect," Nicole says.
Nicole's bouquet stood out in vibrant shades of pink and peach. The arrangement had peonies, garden roses, ranunculus and many other blooms making up its round shape, arranged by Amy Burke Designs.
The bridesmaids matched in both peach color and strapless style. They selected their dresses from Donna Morgan, and each held a round bouquet filled with ivory blooms that popped against the peach gowns.
The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California, was the absolute perfect place to hold Nicole and Ryan's ceremony. The venue combined Nicole's love for the outdoors with Ryan's love for history and architecture.
Since Nicole knew that with an outdoor ceremony that there would be a chance of wind, she wanted her hair styled into a low messy bun braided intricately on the side and back. The hairstyle helped showcase her dangling silver earrings, which added an additional touch of elegance.

With the large windows letting natural light in, all friends and family members got a good glimpse of the surrounding urban views from Golden Gate Club in San Francisco, California. Long dining tables dressed in gray linens had lace runners draped down the middle, plus a variety of low and high flower centerpieces.

High and low flower centerpieces decorated the middle of the gray-covered dining tables draped with lace runners. The low flower arrangements had peonies, roses and other blooms that brought pops of color to the reception display, and the tall centerpieces had branches accented with leaves and white blooms.

Nicole and Ryan wanted a traditional wedding cake. It stood three tiers tall, with two layers covered in white fondant while the middle tier had a peach rosette design. The topper depicted a groom elegantly dipping his bride, resembling a pose that was seen on the dance floor.
