An Elegant, Vintage Wedding at Laurel Court in Cincinnati, Ohio
Lindsay Grome (28 and a public relations professional) and Johann Gebauer (28 and an airline pilot) wanted to tell their romantic story through details that reflected their love for history and traveling. As their wedding planning progressed, the couple agreed on the theme of "our journey." "We wanted to provide a fun experience for our guests, and we wanted it to be a day where we invited our closest family and friends—who came in from all over the country and the world—to witness our journey from best friends to husband and wife," Lindsay says. Lindsay and Johann went back to their Cincinnati roots and booked the Laurel Court for their elegant nuptials, with beautiful grounds filled with rich history and vintage architecture. They especially gravitated toward the wisteria-covered pergola, where they got married, surrounded by lush arrangements, thanks to Expressions By Elizabeth. They chose a palette of blues and pinks to stand out from their selected theme, which decorated the day from the bridesmaid dresses in multiple shades of blue to the white and pink cake. Lindsay's family's tradition of having afternoon tea showed inside the atrium reception, where vintage tea sets filled with garden roses, hydrangeas and calcynia decorated the middle of dining tables. We loved the travel-inspired stationery that reflected the places that Lindsay and Johann have visited together, including the antique-style escort cards that directed guests to postcard table markers.
