An Elegant Winter Wedding at Rothschild Pavilion in Wausau, Wisconsin

Emily Haffley and Branden Goetsch’s winter wedding exuded classic elegance, with thoughtful touches woven throughout giving the day plenty of personal flair.

As snow fell lightly outdoors, the couple — warm and cozy with their guests indoors — exchanged vows under a wooden arbor draped in a lush garland of greenery and pink and burgundy florals. Eucalyptus, rose petals and ivory pillar candles housed in geometric lanterns lined the aisles. Emily and Branden’s pup, Harper, made an appearance during the processional and joined the wedding party at the head of the aisle. After sealing their “I do’s” with a kiss, the newlyweds headed straight to cocktail hour, where they sipped on signature cocktails and greeted all 260 of their guests.

During cocktail hour, the ceremony space was flipped for the reception. Round tables draped in white and burgundy linens were topped with tall gold vases bearing bouquets of cascading eucalyptus, red amaranthus, and classic blooms in shades of cream, blush and burgundy. The reception’s standout element was the over-the-top floral mantelpiece arrangement, filled with skyward-reaching blooms and piled high atop a gilded frame.

Wanting to put their own twist on tradition, the duo placed a ‘kissing menu’ on each table. Instead of clinking glasses, guests could choose from a list of activities to do to get the newlyweds to kiss. Guests took on the challenge with excitement, getting up and singing or kissing the way they wanted the newlyweds to kiss.

For their first dance, Emily and Branden had their DJ overlay their music with a voiceover they had created thanking their parents for their love and support. Later, to get their guests up and dancing, they invited everyone out onto the dance floor for a group photo. Once the photos were snapped, the music picked up and everyone busted a move!
