An Elegant Winter Wedding at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago, Illinois

Roshni and Elliot fused the bride's Hindu culture and the groom's Western roots for an elegant, luxurious wedding at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago. To start the day, Roshni and Elliot got ready with close family and friends. She wore a traditional red and gold lehenga, henna, bangles and a matching veil during the ceremony. Elliot put on a classic navy suit, and the bridesmaids wore navy gowns with colorful Hindu-inspired shawls. The ceremony took place in the middle of the library. Gold Chiavari chairs and wood cross-back chairs circled around a greenery-covered mandap. Classic arrangements of red and white hydrangeas decorated the aisle, and string lights overhead rounded out a "winter garden" theme. For the reception, guests sat at a mix of walnut farm tables and round tables topped with velvet and gold linens. Roshni and Elliot reused the mandap as a head table accent, and gold Chiavari chairs decorated with their Hindu wedding garlands served as sweetheart chairs. The newlyweds also shared a stunning first dance under the string lights.
