An Elegant Winter Wedding at the Mandarin Oriental in Boston, Massachusetts
Ryan and Alyssa knew each other from high school, were in the same year and had mutual friends in common. After high school, they went their separate ways to college and didn't keep in touch. Fast forward 12 years, and one of those mutual friends saw Ryan at a wedding. He happened to be in town for a while, so Alyssa planned a get together for drinks. Ryan and Alyssa meet again for drinks and then start hanging out together each week as friends. After a few months, things started to become serious and they began dating. 3 1/2 years after being together, Ryan completely surprised Alyssa with a proposal by planning a fake dinner date with friends. As she finished getting ready to leave, he proposed with a solitaire ring using her grandmother's diamond! He had planned a romantic night stopping at 3 places that were meaningful to their relationship. For their wedding at the Mandarin Oriental, the couple went with an ivory, gold and charcoal color palette," says Alyssa. The pair walked down an aisle lined with floating candles, and were married under a white fabric draped chuppah adorned with phaleanopsis orchids.
