An Industrial-Chic Art Gallery Wedding at Mason Murer Fine Art in Atlanta, Georgia

Mary Catherine Southern (27 and a legal assistant) was introduced to Ben Riddick (29 and a financial planner) by her best friend while they were working at the same wealth management firm. The couple dated for three years before Ben proposed with an asscher-cut engagement ring during a weekend getaway to celebrate their anniversary. The couple spent the next year planning their fall wedding at Mason Murer Fine Art in Atlanta, Georgia. "The art gallery is a modern space with cement floors and an open floor plan, plus it was large enough to have the ceremony on one side and the reception on the other without worrying about flipping the space," says Mary Catherine. "One of the coolest things about the venue is that they left all of the artwork and statues up—nothing was off limits so there was something else to entertain guests, especially during cocktail hour while we were taking pictures!" A purple and gray color palette added color to the minimal industrial space and the couple repurposed their stunning floral and branch chuppah as a cake display during the reception. "For linens we alternated purple and gray and also used up lighting throughout the main room," says Mary Catherine. "Since the walls were stark white, the lighting was an inexpensive way to add a dramatic touch!" As wedding favors, guests were given red and yellow pompoms. "Ben went to Georgia Tech and I went to UGA so it was fitting for our guests to wave the pompoms during our exit while the DJ played the fight songs," says Mary Catherine.
