An Industrial, Rustic Chic Wedding at Wilson Farm in Lexington, Massachusetts

Brooklyn, New York-based couple Jennifer Wilson (27 and an executive search consultant) and Nick Vigliotti (27 and a CPA, auditor and forensic accountant) brought big-city flair to the quaint town of Lexington, Massachusetts, for their wedding. Jennifer’s family farm hosted the event, offering a sentimental and stunning backdrop for the industrial meets rustic-chic affair. The couple exchanged vows in the farm’s greenhouse overlooking acres of lush, colorful fields, and then whisked guests off to Jennifer’s great-aunt’s home, only steps away, for the reception. With the help of Melissa Stewart of Artistry Catering & Events, the pair pulled off a fun-filled evening packed with personality. A subtle travel motif that spoke to Jennifer and Nick’s love of adventure was present throughout the decor, translating into details like luggage-tag escort cards and an over-the-top suitcase wedding cake. Wooden farm tables boasted antique accents, miniature chalkboards and bundles of bright, locally grown dahlias, garden roses and more, plus plenty of shimmery metallic elements and galvanized-metal Tolix chairs that injected an urban edge into the day’s overall rustic style. “The focal point of the tent was a custom-built bar with crates, a barn board and corrugated metal, lit up with marquee lights,” Jennifer says. “It was a place to hang and brought a little bit of our Brooklyn neighborhood to the farm.” The menu highlighted farm-fresh ingredients grown on-site and a playlist featuring some of the couple’s favorite oldies, classic rock and old-school hip-hop jams kept the dance floor packed late into the night. A tip from Jennifer: “Set boundaries with family members, future family members and friends early in the process. Realize that as hard as it is, you cannot please everyone.”
