An Intimate Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Rancho Mirage, California
Although this small, intimate wedding was not a first marriage for Lisa Fedele (53 and a teacher) and Steve Klempa (67 and a construction administrator), they still wanted to embody the sacred essence of a traditional ceremony, which they did through their classy color palette of violet, eggplant and ivory. The couple was married in the backyard of a private estate in Rancho Mirage, California, which comfortably housed their 18 guests for a five-day celebration. Lisa wore an ivory satin wedding dress by Casablanca with a lace jacket, and Stephen matched with wearing an ivory vest and tie. The David Rohr Floral Studio arranged a beautiful bouquet filled with roses and calla lilies accented with eucalyptus and leaves for Lisa to hold, which incorporated a silver bracelet with an angel and two photos: one of Lisa’s parents and one of Stephen’s parents. The ceremony took place on the open lawn, with wooden chairs facing the iron arch that was decorated with purple and white flowers on top. At the reception, blue linens and dinnerware were set on round dining tables that were decorated with lantern centerpieces. What really caught our attention was the two-tier purple ombre cake, which embodied the purple and white color palette and the classic theme of the wedding day. “The wedding cake was a two tier violet ombre buttercream delight, with layers of vanilla and chocolate sponge cake with chocolate ganache and strawberry cream with fresh strawberries, done by Exquisite Desserts," Lisa says.
