An Intimate, Natural Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Folsom, California
With natural foliage and breathtaking hillside views, it’s hard to believe that this intimate, backyard wedding took place at someone's private home in Folsom, California. “Our good friend suggested we contact this incredible couple from our church to ask if they would let us use their backyard,” Shelbie Williamson (29 and a graphic designer) says of her marriage to Daryl Williamson (37 and a lab technician). “We had never met them, but their hearts were so huge. They said yes without hesitation and let us have the run of their beautiful home for the day, no questions asked. It was a straight-up miracle!” Neutral shades of whites, pinks, purples and grays decorated the open space—from the sequined bridesmaid dresses to the white pumpkins and baby's breath arrangements—captured on camera by Alicia Chandler Photographer. Shelbie and Daryl were married at a wooden archway draped with white linens, where Shelbie revealed her ivory A-line wedding dress designed by Jim Hjelm to everyone on the wedding day. The bridesmaids and flower girl matched Shelbie's look with off-white dresses, while the groomsmen wore light gray and charcoal plaid bow ties with black suspenders to matched Daryl. The reception took place outside as well, where guests were treated to an assortment of cupcakes and wedding cake at the end of the meal. We loved the dessert selections, and the way they were displayed too. The cake was propped up on a wooden slab with a gold sparkly sign that read "Mr. & Mrs.," surrounded by the cupcakes, which was held up by two barrels that gave off a rustic flair. "Looking back, we wouldn't change a thing," Shelbie says. "We loved everything about our day."
